Nilplug is a British brand that was established in 2010 by Neil Marlow, and is based in the creative hub of South London. With the recent release of the film ‘Gravity’ we’re all getting excited about space exploration again; stars, satellites and spaceships as well as the expanding universe – I’m obsessed with it all, and as a matter of fact so is Nilplug. With a variety of offbeat inspirations ranging from space travel to comic books, to the colours, glamour & prosperity of 1950’s America (and even inspirations gathered from the wise words from Irish men.) This 'hotchpotch' of influences culminates in bold and exciting statement jewellery that embodies eccentricity. Nilplug’s most brilliant pieces include unique rings; and my absolute favourite is ‘Power On’ which jokingly cites an invisibility button as one of its main functions, however it looks like a beautiful bolt of some fantastic machine with its straight edges, polished sides and unique shape.

Nilplug’s pieces have a feel good vibe about them, from the quirky influences and distinguishing craftsmanship, to the arresting use of colours. There is something different about this brand, and there is something refreshing about finding escapism within wearable art. We can’t wait to delight over more unorthodox creations from them in the future.
